A lot of people fall into the game of making warriors between 20 and 30 moons and claiming they are really experienced or something. We don't want this; be realistic with ages, people!
KITS are 1 to 6 moons old. APPRENTICES are 6 to about 12 moons or so. WARRIORS are about 12 to around 120 moons or so. ELDERS are about 120 moons to death.
Cats can live to be in their late teens. That, however, is probably going to be more for kittypets than anything else. Forest cats will probably live to be in their early teens, around 10-12 or so.
MEDICINE CATS can become apprentices at 6 moons, and don't get their medicine cat names until they are close to 15-20 moons. This is because they have to train a lot for such an important job. They inherit the medicine cat position from their mentor when their mentor dies or is unable to carry on with the position. Apprentices would only get their names early if they were forced to take the position, such as the death of the current medicine cat, etc.
DEPUTIES need to be at least 20-30 moons. They have to have trained at least one apprentice before, and they need to have proved themselves worthy. So 12 moon old deputies are very unlikely. We prefer deputies that are around 30+ moons old, as they are more experienced.
LEADERS become leaders when the last leader dies, so there is no real age they should be. But they are usually experienced enough to take the position, 30+ moons or so. Especially since they would have been the deputy before becoming the leader, which means that they would have to be at least 20 moons old.
